The Local Government White Paper: Strong and prosperous communities published October 2006, outlined proposals to legislate for a new statutory partnership for health and well being under the Local Strategic Partnership (called the Island Strategic Partnership (ISP) on the Isle of Wight). The legislation will propose a new duty to co-operate locally for the Isle of Wight NHS PCT and the Isle of Wight Council. The White Paper will strengthen the Island Strategic Partnership, with the Isle of Wight Children and Young People’s Trust as one of the main thematic partnerships.
