Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence when it occurs, affects all members of the family including children who witness violence, who may have been caught up in the abuse physically, or are simply aware that it is going on.

Please do not hesitate to come and talk to us, either via the Referral and Assessment Team (Tel: 01983 525790) or if you have a social worker, to them.
It is only in the extreme cases that Children’s Services have to act to ensure a child’s safety. We believe that the best way to protect children is to help protect and support the abused parent.

If a victim needs the protection of the courts, they should take the children with them and go to a solicitor for legal advice.
