Building Control Policies & Customer Charter

The Council has duties and liabilities under the Building Act to enforce Building Regulations in its area, in order to ensure reasonable standards of health and safety in and about buildings are achieved.

The Building Regulation Policy is a written statement that establishes the level of service the Isle of Wight Council considers appropriate in dealing with Building Regulations to ensure that these obligations are adequately fulfilled.

The Enforcement Policy sets out the current approach to enforcement by the Building Control Service of the Isle of Wight Council.

The Building Control Customer Charter lays down the level of service you can expect to receive from Building Control.
