Parenting on the Isle of Wight

Some ideas and information offering support to Parents on the Isle of Wight.
ParentingINTRO00

Whether you're a mother, father, step-parent, grandparent or carer, having to deal with the numerous and varied issues a child will encounter between birth and eventually leaving home is a huge challenge.

A parenting handbook offering advice and guidance to parents has been launched by the council today as part of the latest in a series of initiatives designed to offer more support for parents, carers and their families across the Island.

The handbook offers ideas, advice and childcare choices for families and information related to support for children with disabilities. The handbook has been created in response to a request from parents and carers on the Island for more support and is also one of the five key priorities identified within the Children and Young People’s Plan, launched earlier this year.

The Handbook will be available electronically from here at a later date.

For more information on the handbook contact Penny Crossley, Parenting Family Support Coordinator on 01983 814370.
