Appeals InformationIf a food business proprietor wishes to lodge an appeal against a score awarded, he/she must put the appeal in writing to the department within 28 days of the date on the letter following the inspection (or of the initial launch on 21st March 2007). The letter of appeal must state the grounds on which he/she disputes the score awarded. It will not be sufficient to state that the conditions found at the time of the inspection were atypical. The scores are available to view here. To assist you in determining if your premises has been fairly scored, please compare the comments on your visit report and letter from your last routine inspection with the scoring guide . On receipt of an appeal, The Principal Environmental Health Practitioner (PEHP) or Environmental Health Manager and the inspecting officer's line manager (or other Senior EHP where unavailable) will review the documentation in light of the representations made. The inspecting officer will also be consulted in order to determine if the score should be moderated. The results of the review will be communicated to the business proprietor within 10 working days of receipt of the appeal. No re-inspections will be undertaken. Any appeals should be sent to: Environmental Health Manager |
